EMPLOYEE HIRING and ENGAGEMENT Practices IMPROVE BUSINESS OPERATIONS FOR GROCERY CHAIN

The SITUATION

Fed up with employee turnover, differing management approaches, and clashing personalities, leadership at a chain of grocery stores in Houston, Texas, needed to revamp their hiring, training, and development approach. The CEO of this privately owned Grocery Store Chain hired ThriveVance to help revamp the hiring process.

The SOLUTION

After the initial assessment of the hiring process, we created a roadmap to revamp it by benchmarking the jobs for this company to identify the values, skills, competencies, and behaviors that would make someone succeed in the various jobs they had. We used the TriMetrix HD assessment as part of this process.

Next, we conducted two workshops, one Communication Breakthrough that included a TriMetrix EQ for all employees and a Voice of Leadership, which included a TriMetrix DNA assessment for supervisors and above.

The RESULTS

A year later, the grocery chain had a 98% success rate in matching the right candidate to their jobs. Retail profits were up 32%, and sales were up 48%.

Since the organization was finding the best fit for the job and company culture and offering the training, communication improved, and clashing personalities diminished. The leaders learned to create a positive working environment that cultivated personal accountability.

The solutions we provided helped to eliminate conflict and increase profits.
